Headroom Notes
118 dB is printed «per pair», not per speaker. Two identical sources at the same distance sum to about +3 dB where they are correlated, so a single T8V is roughly 115 dB by the same test — and neither number describes your desk, where 1 m and half-space rarely both apply. ADAM's own A-series pages quote «per speaker» instead, so the two ranges cannot be compared without correcting.
Amplification Warning
10 kΩ on XLR and 20 kΩ on RCA: any line output built this century drives it without loading. We store the XLR figure because that is the input a balanced interface output will use. Note that the two connectors are not level-matched — the T8V has a -10/+4 sensitivity switch, and getting it wrong is the usual cause of «the monitors are too quiet».

ADAM nennt den Maximalpegel der T-Serie für ein Stereopaar, auf den A-Serie-Seiten steht dagegen «Max. peak SPL per speaker at 1 m». Der Unterschied beträgt rund 3 dB und schmeichelt der günstigeren Reihe: T8V und A7V mit 118 und 105 dB liegen näher beieinander, als die Zahlen nahelegen.
