Gain Staging Advice

2 mV/Pa is -53.98 dBV/Pa - half a decibel above an SM58 and two decibels above an SM57. That is not the loudest handheld here (the beyerdynamic M 88 is, at -51 dBV/Pa), but combined with the 200 ohm output it is the easy case: almost any interface reaches a working level without running its preamp near the top.
