Tonal Profile

Five balanced armatures behind a passive crossover in a 6.375 Ω package. Both halves of that are extreme: the impedance is low enough that a 1 Ω source output impedance already shifts the crossover, and Campfire publishes the impedance to three decimals because at this value the third decimal is not noise.

Amplification Warning

132.5 dB/V is the highest voltage sensitivity in this catalogue. Any amplifier designed to drive 300 Ω headphones will hiss audibly here even at rest; the correct source is the quietest one available, not the strongest.

Was im Datenblatt tatsächlich steht

Wörtlich von der Herstellerseite zitiert, mit dem Datum der Prüfung. Wir behaupten das Gedruckte, nicht die Absicht dahinter.

Messbedingungen
«SPL: 94db @ 1 kHz - 11.84 mVrms»

Campfire states sensitivity inverted: the row labelled SPL gives the voltage the earphone needs to reach a fixed 94 dB, not the level it reaches from a fixed voltage. The statement is complete and converts exactly — 94 dB from 11.84 mV is 132.5 dB from one volt — but it cannot be compared with a competitor's «110 dB» by reading, only by calculating, and the lower the number in that row, the more sensitive the earphone. Together with a 6.375 Ω load it describes one of the most hiss-prone in-ears made.
