Tonal Profile
Neodymium cardioid handheld with a large Mylar diaphragm, a four-point capsule suspension and a pneumatic pump at the capsule base for handling noise. The data sheet gives two frequency responses - 30 Hz - 17 kHz close, 70 Hz - 17 kHz far - which is the proximity effect written down honestly.
Gain Staging Advice
2.4 mV/Pa is -52.4 dBV/Pa: 2.1 dB above an SM58 and 3.6 dB above an SM57, which puts it among the easier handheld dynamics to drive. The 350 ohm output is on the high side, so give it an input of 2 kilohms or more if you want the top end the capsule actually produces.
Was im Datenblatt tatsächlich steht
Wörtlich von der Herstellerseite zitiert, mit dem Datum der Prüfung. Wir behaupten das Gedruckte, nicht die Absicht dahinter.
«Sensitivity, Open Circuit Voltage @ 1 kHz: 2.4 mV/Pascal ... Impedance: 350 ohms balanced (low-z)»
Electro-Voice prints the same open-circuit voltage of 2.4 mV/Pascal and the same 350 ohm balanced impedance on the engineering data sheets of three ND-series microphones with three different polar patterns: ND76 (cardioid), ND86 (supercardioid) and ND44 (tight cardioid). One number covering three capsules may be correct, but it cannot be used to tell the three apart.
