Headroom Notes
A discrete R2R ladder rather than a delta-sigma chip, and the distortion figure says so plainly: about 0.025 % at the line output, roughly a hundred times the THD of a 150-dollar delta-sigma DAC. That is the character of the architecture, not a fault, but it means the K11 R2R is chosen for what it sounds like and not for its measurements. All figures are quoted in OS (oversampling) mode; the unit also has a NOS mode for which nothing is published.
