Tonal Profile
The E5000 is the rare in-ear that is actually hard to drive: 93 dB/mW at 14 Ω works out to roughly 111 dB/V, some 20 dB below the typical modern IEM. A phone will make sound; it will not make headroom.
Amplification Warning
The combination is the awkward one: low sensitivity and low impedance together. Voltage alone will not do it — the source has to hold that voltage into 14 Ω, which is where dongles fold.

final prints sensitivity with no reference across the whole E and A line — 93 dB for the E5000, 100 dB for the E3000 and A4000, 98 dB for the A3000, 102 dB for the E1000 — on both the Japanese and English versions of the page. For this model it matters most: at 14 Ω, 93 dB/mW is about 111 dB/V, which is the least efficient in-ear in this catalogue and genuinely wants an amplifier. Read as dB/V the same number would put it 18 dB lower still, in territory no source could reach.
