Gain Staging Advice
The impedance selector on the mic input is a tone control, not a matching aid — the four ISA settings load the microphone differently and audibly change the low end of a dynamic.
Production Warning
Focusrite publish the stepped range (0-60 dB) and the trim (0-20 dB) separately and never state a single total figure, so the catalogue records the stepped maximum of 60 dB. In practice the trim adds on top of it.
