Headroom Notes

Genelec publishes three maximum levels and defines each one: 100 dB short-term sine on axis in half space at 1 m, 93 dB long-term with IEC-weighted noise, and 107 dB peak per pair with music. We store the short-term sine figure. Note that the 107 dB is the only one measured on a pair, so it is not 7 dB better than the 100 — it is a different measurement on two speakers.

Amplification Warning

XLR only — there is no unbalanced input on any 8000-series model, so an RCA source needs a converter, not an adapter cable. 10 kΩ balanced is the input load.
