Headroom Notes

A compression driver on a waveguide usually buys efficiency; here it does not. 85 dB at 2.83 V on 6 ohms is about 83.8 dB/W/m — the least sensitive JBL in the catalogue and 6 dB below the Stage A190, which is four times the amplifier power for the same level. The horn is being used for directivity control, not for output.

Amplification Warning

The Studio 6 sheet gives «Recommended Amplifier Power: Max 150W» — a ceiling with no floor, unlike the Stage sheet from the same company, which prints ranges («20 – 225W»). We therefore carry no recommended power range for this model rather than invent a lower bound.
