Moondrop states sensitivity per volt, as it does across its catalogue, and at 8 ohms that scale flatters nobody: 101 dB/Vrms into 8 ohms is a demanding headphone, not an easy one. Read the dB/V figure as if it were dB/mW and you will underestimate the power it wants by about twenty decibels.

Amplification Warning

8 ohms is the lowest impedance in this batch. A source whose output impedance is a few ohms drops a large share of the voltage in its own output stage before it ever reaches the driver.
