The open model, and the ten decibels between it and the NDH 20 are the number that matters: 104 dB per volt against 114 means the NDH 30 needs 0.63 V for 100 dB where the NDH 20 needs 0.2 V — three times the voltage, ten times the power. An interface handles it; a phone reaches the level with little left over. Distortion is specified at under 0.03%, a third of the closed model's figure.
