The instrument version of sE's V7: same aluminium voice coil and neodymium magnet, capsule retuned for cabinets and drums rather than for a hand-held vocal, supercardioid, 30 Hz - 19 kHz.

Gain Staging Advice

sE publishes '2.0 mV/Pa (-54 dB)'. The millivolt figure is unambiguous and converts to -53.98 dBV/Pa, which is what we store; the bare '-54 dB' names no reference, and here it happens to coincide with dBV. That is 2 dB hotter than an SM57 on the same guitar cabinet. The 300 ohm output wants an input of 2 kilohms or better.
