Tonal Profile

A flat, side-address supercardioid designed to hang off the cabinet by its own cable rather than stand in front of it on a boom. That single mechanical decision is why it is on so many guitar cabs; the sound is a supercardioid dynamic with a lifted upper midrange.

Gain Staging Advice

1.5 mV/Pa, -56.5 dBV/Pa - half a decibel below an SM57 and, in front of a driven guitar speaker, entirely beside the point. The supercardioid pattern has a rear lobe: hanging the microphone in front of the cabinet puts that lobe into the room, which is where the drum kit is.
