Tonal Profile
The RF-condenser short shotgun that has been the film-set default since the 1970s. Its point is not the interference tube alone but the RF circuit: the capsule sits at low impedance, so humidity that would make an ordinary condenser crackle mostly does not reach it.
Gain Staging Advice
25 mV/Pa is loud for a shotgun (-32 dBV/Pa) and 13 dB(A) of self-noise is respectable, but the 40 Hz low-end limit is real: this microphone is deaf below the bottom of a male voice, by design. Nominal impedance is only 25 ohms, and the sheet asks for at least 800 ohms of load.
