Tonal Profile
The budget kick microphone of the PG Alta line: a cardioid moving coil with a low-frequency lift and a quick-release lever on the stand mount. At -55 dBV/Pa it is a decibel louder than an SM57 - which for a kick drum is irrelevant, because the source runs 130 dB inside the shell and every preamp on the market has enough gain.
Gain Staging Advice
Unlike the older PGA48, this one is a 150 ohm source, so any modern preamp input loads it correctly. Nothing here needs phantom power; if the console feeds it anyway, a correctly wired dynamic simply ignores it.
