Headroom Notes
Topping publishes its specifications as images rather than text, but the numbers themselves are unusually complete: output level in Vpp for each gain setting, output impedance, and power at three loads. 11 Vpp at high gain is 3.89 V RMS and agrees with the 51 mW into 300 ohms rating to within half a percent.
Gain Staging Advice
The RCA line output has a 22-ohm source impedance — fine for any modern amplifier with a 10 kilohm input, but worth remembering if you feed something vintage with a low input impedance. The 12 dB high-gain figure is measured from digital full scale to the jack, not from an analogue input; the DX1 has no analogue input.
