+9 dBu maximum input level is the lowest of this batch. With a hot line source into the combo jack that is the first thing that clips, not the converter.
Gain Staging Advice
55 dB of available gain is the whole Volt line, from Volt 1 to Volt 476. That is enough for condensers and for most dynamics at close range, but roughly 5-10 dB short for an SM7B-class microphone at speaking distance: you will be at the stop with the fader still low.
