Production Warning
A resistive pad in an XLR line drops the phantom supply across the same resistors that drop the signal, so a condenser microphone downstream of one will usually not work. Whirlwind describe the part as an H-pad and say nothing about phantom; treat the line as dead for powering purposes unless you have measured otherwise.
