Tonal Profile

Yamaha prints both numbers with their conditions — 51 Ohms at 1 kHz and 100 dB/mW — which is more than most of this price class manages. The 51-Ohm load is the useful part: high enough that a mixer or interface output impedance of a few Ohms is irrelevant, low enough that 100 dB costs 1 mW, or 0.23 V. Closed and circumaural, so it is a tracking headphone before it is a mixing one.
