Tonal Profile

The original Fazor LCD-2: 70 ohms is high for a planar, and that is the useful part - impedance is flat with frequency, so a source with a high output impedance loses you level and nothing else. No tonal tilt, no bass bloom, just a quieter headphone.

Amplification Warning

Audeze's own table asks for more than 100 mW and recommends over 250 mW. At 70 ohms that is 2.6 V and 4.2 V respectively - a phone jack will play it, quietly, and a dongle rated 250 mW into 32 ohms will not reach the recommended level.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

One figure, several models
«Impedance 70 ohms | Sensitivity 101 dB/1mW (at Drum Reference Point)»

Audeze publishes the same pair - 70 ohms and 101 dB/1mW - on LCD-2, LCD-2 Classic and LCD-2 Closed-Back, although the same tables give the three different phase management (Fazor for LCD-2, Non-Fazor for the other two), different backs (open and closed) and different weights (595 g, 544 g, 612 g). One electrical figure covers three products that the same pages describe as acoustically different.
