Gain Staging Advice
Eight preamps with Smartgain, 58 dB of range and -127.5 dBu EIN. The automatic gain routine sets a level for you, but it sets it against the same 58 dB ceiling — a quiet ribbon microphone will run out of range whether you turn the knob or the software does.
Amplification Warning
We publish no headphone voltage for the EVO 16 on purpose: the manufacturer's three headphone rows contradict themselves (see the spec claim), and a plausible-looking number here would be our invention, not their measurement.
What the datasheet actually says
Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

This one row states the same measurement three ways and no two agree. +8.5 dBu is 2.06 V RMS, which would be 2.92 V peak, not 1.66 V peak; and 1.66 V peak is 1.17 V RMS, which into 30 ohms is 46 mW, while the row says 86 mW — again close to twice, the same channel-summing seen on the iD24 sheet. The 60 and 600 ohm rows behave the same way. Because we cannot tell which of the three numbers is the measured one, we leave the headphone voltage empty rather than pick a flattering reading.
