Tonal Profile
The on-ear of the M line, and the most sensitive: 102 dB/mW at 38 Ohms needs about 0.25 V for 110 dB, so it will go painfully loud from anything. On-ear also means the seal depends on clamp, and the bass measured on a head is not the bass on the datasheet.
What the datasheet actually says
Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.
«On-Ear Professional Monitor Headphones | ATH-M60xa | Audio-Technica»
Audio-Technica's US address for the ATH-M60x now serves a page titled ATH-M60xa — a different model name at the same URL — while the company's Japanese site still publishes the ATH-M60x with the same 38 Ohms and 102 dB/mW. Either the two share a transducer or one page has been quietly repointed; the catalogue cannot tell which, so this record is sourced to the Japanese page, where the model named matches the model described.
