Gain Staging Advice
Gain starts at +26 dB and the maximum mic input is +7 dBu. On anything loud the pad is not optional, and the limiter should be treated as protection for the next device rather than as a sound.
Production Warning
Worth noting against the usual pattern: Behringer do publish this preamp's gain range — in the Quick Start Guide's specification table, not on the web page. Their audio interfaces still carry no gain figure anywhere.
