Headroom Notes
Maximum mic input is -2 dBu without the pad. A close-miked snare or a loud dynamic on a guitar cabinet will exceed that; the pad buys 20 dB and is not optional in those places.
Gain Staging Advice
The gain control does not start at unity: the published minimum is +26 dB. There is no setting at which this box passes a signal through unchanged, which matters if it is patched into a line-level chain rather than in front of a microphone.
