Tonal Profile
The 600 Ohm DT 880 is a voltage load and nothing else: about 3.2 V for 110 dB if the 96 dB figure is per milliwatt. Almost no interface output reaches that, and the payoff is a driver that most output impedances cannot disturb — 10 Ohms of source resistance is under 2% of the load here, where on the 32 Ohm version it is a third.

One sensitivity for three headphones whose impedances span a factor of nineteen. The 32 Ohm and the 600 Ohm versions are sold from the same page at the same price and are not interchangeable in any system: read as dB/mW, the 600 Ohm needs 12.7 dB more voltage than the 32 Ohm for the same level — the difference between a phone being enough and a desktop amplifier being mandatory. The unit is not printed either; beyerdynamic names it on the Amiron home as «102 dB (1 mW / 500 Hz)».
