Headroom Notes

84 dB at 2.83 Vrms / 1 m, on an 8-ohm nominal so also dB/W/m. That is 8 dB below the Klipsch in this batch — six times the amplifier power for the same level, before the impedance dip is even considered. The Continuum cone is heavy and well damped; the sensitivity is the price paid for that, and it is a deliberate trade rather than a defect.

Amplification Warning

The hardest combination in this batch: 84 dB sensitivity with a 3.0 Ω minimum. Low sensitivity means you need voltage, a 3-ohm dip means you need current, and a small AV receiver has neither in reserve. B&W's own recommended range starts at 30 W «into 8Ω», which is the wrong load to quote a minimum against — the speaker will be asking for that power at 3 ohms, where most amplifiers rated only into 8 ohms deliver it as clipping.
