Gain Staging Advice
Twenty-five decibels ahead of four preamps changes the whole gain structure of a drum or interview setup at once. Set the interface gain for the boosted level, not the bare microphone level, or the first loud take clips everything simultaneously.
Production Warning
Cloud spell out the consequence for this box themselves: to use a microphone that needs +48 V behind a CL-4 you have to bring in a separate phantom supply, because the unit does not pass phantom from the interface. Four channels means four chances to make that mistake in one session.
