Amplification Warning

Three-way floorstander with two 9-inch woofers, rated 4 ohms nominal. DALI publishes no impedance minimum for any OBERON model, and on a 4-ohm three-way with a 780 Hz lower crossover the minimum is what decides whether an amplifier copes - the nominal only says where to start looking. The 50-400 W amplifier window is unusually wide even by DALI's standards.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

Measurement conditions
«Maximum SPL [@ 1m] [dB] 113»

DALI prints a maximum SPL row for its passive speakers and names only the distance. For a passive loudspeaker the sound pressure it reaches depends entirely on what the amplifier delivers, so a maximum SPL figure is meaningless without the drive level, the signal, the distortion limit and whether it is one speaker or a pair - none of which the row states. The same table does state its conditions for sensitivity, «Sensitivity [2.83V/1m]», which is what makes the omission visible. Read the number as a ceiling DALI measured under conditions it did not publish, and do not line it up against an active monitor's max SPL, which is measured with a known amplifier inside.
