Gain Staging Advice
Sixty decibels is enough for an SM7B only if the rest of the chain is quiet: dbx quote EIN unweighted, which is the honest scale and reads a few decibels worse than the A-weighted figures printed by others. Compare like with like before deciding this preamp is noisy.
Production Warning
The Detail controls are shelving EQ, not enhancers with a separate path: they are in the signal before the output, and their setting travels with everything recorded through the module.
