Headroom Notes

Eleven amplifier channels at 140 W each into 8 ohms - measured, as always, with two channels driven. Nothing in the specification describes what the power supply does when all eleven are asked for anything at once, and no manufacturer in this category publishes that number.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

Measurement conditions
«Power Output (6 ohm, 1 kHz, 10% 1ch Drive) 250 W»

The largest number on the page is measured under the loosest possible conditions: one channel only, one 1 kHz tone, and ten percent distortion - a level at which the waveform is visibly clipped. It is roughly 1.8 times the 140 W full-band figure for the same receiver. Denon labels the conditions honestly; the number is simply not a continuous rating.
