Headroom Notes
The parameter table prints one set of figures for the 3.5 mm jack and never says which power mode they belong to, although the KA15 has a Desktop Mode switch. The product page attributes the balanced 560 mW+560 mW figure to Desktop Mode, so the table is the desktop set; FiiO publishes no separate phone-powered figure for the KA15 the way it does for the KA17. Treat 2.4 V as the ceiling with a charger attached and expect less from a phone.
Amplification Warning
The 4.4 mm balanced jack is a separate amplifier (4.2 V, 560 mW into 32 ohms) with its own output impedance of 1.2 ohms. The catalogue stores one headphone output per device, so only the 3.5 mm side is modelled.
What the datasheet actually says
Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.
«Peak output voltage ≥2.4V (32Ω, THD+N<1%)»
The row is called peak output voltage, but the number is an RMS voltage: the same table rates the same jack at 180 mW into 32 ohms, and 180 mW into 32 ohms is exactly 2.4 V RMS (2.4 V peak would be 1.70 V RMS, or 90 mW). Read as a true peak, the figure would understate the device by 3 dB. FiiO uses the same row title on the BTR17 for a genuine peak-to-peak value.
