Headroom Notes

Same three-row structure as the smaller SAM models, but read the peak row carefully: on the 8340A it says «per pair in a listening room», while on the 8330A the same row says «per pair at 1 m distance» with no room named. A listening room adds boundary gain that an anechoic figure does not, so the two peak numbers are not measured the same way even within one series. The short-term >=110 dB is the per-speaker, half-space figure used here.

Genelec states three maximum-level rows per model, each with its own definition, and the definitions are not constant across the range. On the 8340A and 8331A the peak row reads «per pair in a listening room with music material at 1 m»; on the 8330A the same row reads «per pair at 1 m distance with music material», with no room; on the 8010A it reads «per pair on top of console». A listening room and a console surface each add boundary gain that a free-field or half-space figure does not include, and the amount depends on the room and the placement, so a peak figure cannot be converted back to a per-speaker anechoic one. The short-term row - «sine wave output on axis in half space, averaged from 100 Hz to 3 kHz, at 1 m» - is the one stated identically across the range, and it is the figure recorded in this catalogue.
