Only the 8 ohm rating is recorded, and that is deliberate. Marantz publishes 70 W x 2 into 8 ohms and 100 W x 2 into 4 ohms under one honest heading - 20 Hz to 20 kHz, both channels driven simultaneously - but the distortion line underneath is qualified '8 ohms load'. There is no published distortion figure for the 4 ohm rating, so attaching 0.02 % to it would be our invention rather than Marantz's statement.
Thermal Behavior
The connection page states 4 - 16 ohms outright: 'Use speakers with an impedance of 4 - 16 ohms.' It is on the speaker-connection page, not in the specification table, which is where most people look and do not find it.

Two power ratings, one distortion figure, and the distortion figure carries a load in brackets: 8 ohms. So the 100 W into 4 ohms is a number without a distortion limit attached anywhere in the document. That is not a small omission - into a 4 ohm load an amplifier can be rated at almost any wattage if the permitted distortion is left open. We therefore store only the 8 ohm rating and leave the 4 ohm figure in this note, where it can be read together with what is missing from it.
