Headroom Notes

Neumann prints two calculated maxima that differ only by the acoustic space: 116.8 dB in half space and 110.8 dB in full space, both at 3 % THD at 1 m. The 6 dB between them is not the speaker, it is whether you count the boundary behind it. We store the half-space figure as printed; if your monitors stand free of the wall on stands, the full-space number is the one that describes your room. A third figure, 98 dB(C) for a pair at 2.3 m, is the only one measured with music.

Amplification Warning

24 kΩ is the highest analogue input impedance of any monitor in this batch — a passive volume control or a long unbalanced run will behave better into this than into the 3.3 kΩ RCA of an ADAM A-series. The RCA socket here is not an analogue input: it is S/PDIF, and feeding a line signal into it does nothing.
