Headroom Notes

A single-ended class-A design with a toroidal transformer and 40,000 uF of reservoir capacitance, rated 30 W RMS per channel into 8 ohms. Thirty watts of class A is a serious amount of standing heat, and Nobsound rates the whole appliance at 120 W of mains consumption - read the two numbers together before deciding what the amplifier does at full output.

Amplification Warning

Published frequency response is 30 Hz - 20 kHz and SNR 86 dB (A-weighted) - both modest for the price. The load is rated at 4 ohms flat, with no upper limit stated.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

The maker’s own documents disagree
«Output power (RMS): 30W*2@8Ω; 42W*2@4Ω — Power consumption: ≤120W»

Sixty watts of continuous output from no more than 120 W drawn at the wall requires an overall efficiency of at least 50 %. A single-ended class-A output stage, which is how the same page describes this amplifier, has a theoretical ceiling of 25 % and reaches well under that in practice. The two published numbers cannot both describe the same operating condition.
