Closed 50 mm drivers at 32 Ohms, 96 dB/mW: 100 dB costs 2.5 mW, about 0.28 V, so anything drives them. The sourcing is the story here — the product page carries a feature list and no specification table at all, and the only place the sensitivity appears with its reference unit is the PDF owner's manual. Samson is not consistent about this within one series: the SR850 manual, laid out identically, prints a bare '98dB'.

Two owner's manuals from the same series, with the same layout and the same specification headings, differ in whether the sensitivity reference is stated. The SR950 sheet gives '96 dB / 1 mW'; the SR850 sheet gives '98dB' with no reference, as does the SR850 product page. Without a reference the SR850 figure is ambiguous by 14.9 dB at 32 Ohms — the difference between the milliwatt and the volt scale — so the two models cannot be compared on their published sensitivities even though they sit in one range. Only the SR950 number is usable as printed.
