Tonal Profile

120 Ω open-back sitting between the 50 Ω HD 599 and the 150 Ω HD 550. The metal-mesh cups and detachable cable make it the modern replacement for the 5xx line most people know from the HD 559 and HD 569.

Amplification Warning

107.9 dB per volt at 120 Ω: about 0.25 V for 100 dB, so most sources cope. Sennheiser also publishes THD «<0.2 % (1 kHz / 90 dB SPL)» — note the level at which it was measured, because a distortion figure without a level is not comparable with anything.
