Tonal Profile

A single 10 mm LCP dynamic in a 3D-printed shell. TinHiFi publishes rated power (3 mW) and maximum power (5 mW) — a very low ceiling by in-ear standards, equivalent to about 0.4 Vrms.

Amplification Warning

Take the 5 mW maximum seriously: on a desktop amplifier capable of several volts, full scale on a loud track is well past what the manufacturer rates the driver for. Nothing else in this batch has a ceiling that low.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

Measurement conditions
«Sensitivity: 105±3dB @1kHz 0.179V»

This looks like a voltage sensitivity and is not one. 0.179 V across the stated 32 Ω is exactly one milliwatt — the square root of 0.001 × 32 is 0.1789 — so the figure is an ordinary dB/mW rating written in volts. Anyone who takes it at face value as dB/V will read the T3 Plus as roughly 15 dB less efficient than it is, and conclude it needs an amplifier it does not need. TinHiFi uses the same 0.179 V reference for the distortion figure on the same sheet, which confirms the reading.
