- Expert Description
- En: The standard FetHead circuit with a 6 dB/octave high-pass built in: 27 dB of gain into a 3000 Ω load, response 30 Hz to 100 kHz within 1 dB, powered from 48 V phantom which it consumes and does not pass on. The filter is fixed, not switchable, so the low end it removes is removed for every source plugged in behind it.

Tonal Profile
The filter is why this version exists: a ribbon in front of a kick drum or a close-miked cabinet loads the FetHead's input with subsonic energy that eats headroom before you hear it. Removing it at 6 dB/octave costs almost nothing above 100 Hz.
Production Warning
Triton say it in one sentence: the FetHead uses phantom power but does not pass it to the microphone. A condenser behind it is silent while the interface still shows +48 V engaged — the fault looks like a dead microphone and is not.
