5.8 Ω is the lowest nominal impedance in this batch and close to the floor of what the schema accepts. Two dynamic drivers wired in parallel across a passive network get you there.

Amplification Warning

At 5.8 Ω the usual rule of thumb — source output impedance under an eighth of the load — asks for well under 0.7 Ω. Most laptop and motherboard jacks are ten to a hundred times that. The 5 Ω adapter Truthear ships in the box is a workaround for hiss, not for this: it makes the tonal problem worse, not better, because it adds series resistance in front of an already uneven load.
