Tonal Profile

The thinner-diaphragm successor (2 um film with 0.5 um silver against the Verum 1's 8 um with aluminium), and 11 dB less sensitive per milliwatt for it. Same 8 ohms, same recommended half watt - so the amplifier requirement did not move, the headroom did.

What the datasheet actually says

Quoted verbatim from the manufacturer’s own page, with the date we checked it. We state what is printed, not what anyone intended by it.

Named like something else
«Resistance: 8 ohm | Sensitivity: 96 dB/mW | Recommended amplifier: 0.5w@8 ohm»

Verum's specification list calls the row 'Resistance', not impedance. For a moving transducer these are different quantities: resistance is the DC value of the trace or voice coil, impedance is what the amplifier sees at audio frequencies. The figure is entered here as impedance because that is the only reading under which the rest of the sheet - 'Recommended amplifier: 0.5w@8 ohm' - is consistent with itself.
