Headroom Notes

89 dB at 2.83 V / 1 m, one decibel above the 12.2, which is roughly what the extra cone area buys. On an 8-ohm nominal load this is also dB/W/m. The same «8Ω Compatible» wording appears in the nominal impedance row as on the 12.2.

Amplification Warning

Unusually for a floorstander, the minimum impedance is higher than on the bookshelf 12.2 — 5.0 Ω against 4.0 Ω. A pair of bass drivers wired in series rather than parallel will do that. It makes the 12.3 one of the easier floorstanding loads in its price class: a modest integrated amplifier rated into 8 ohms is not being misled here.
