Gain Staging Advice
Same preamp range as the U-22 with 3.5 dB more input headroom and a second channel. It runs from two AA cells as well as from the bus, which is the reason to pick it over a mains-only box for field work.

Equivalent input noise is a voltage referred to the input, so it is meaningless without a reference: -120 dBu is a level against 0.775 V, a bare 'dB' names nothing. Zoom writes it as a bare 'dB' here and as 'dBu' on the sister UAC-2 page, for the same measurement condition of 150 Ω. Every other level in the same table is given in dBu, and the table's own footnote defines 0 dBu = 0.775 Vrms, so the catalogue stores the figure as dBu.
