Tonal Profile

470 Ω is the highest impedance in current production, and Audio-Technica says so plainly: the Japanese page warns that some sources will not reach adequate level. 98 dB/mW at 470 Ω is only about 101 dB/V — it needs voltage swing, not current, and a 1 V dongle will run out of room before it runs out of drive.
