Tonal Profile
Cardioid pressure-gradient handheld, the budget end of the TG line, sold plain or as the TG V50 s with an on/off switch. Like the ND76, beyerdynamic publishes two frequency responses - 50 Hz - 17 kHz close, 80 Hz - 17 kHz at one metre.
Gain Staging Advice
-52.5 dBV/Pa with a stated tolerance of plus or minus 3 dB - six decibels of spread, wider than the difference between many microphones people agonise over. The catch is electrical: 600 ohms out, tied with the Shure PGA48 and PGA81 for the highest nominal impedance in this batch, and beyerdynamic asks for a load of at least 2 kilohms. A cheap mixer input at 1 kilohm will cost you level and top end.
