Headroom Notes
86 dB at 2.83 V / 1 m. Because the nominal load is 8 ohms, 2.83 V is exactly 1 W here, so this figure needs no correction — unlike the 6-ohm speakers it is usually compared against. It is a genuinely quiet speaker: the Uni-Q's low sensitivity is the price of its dispersion.
Amplification Warning
KEF prints both numbers: 8 ohms nominal, 3.7 ohms minimum. The 3.7 is the one an amplifier actually meets. A receiver rated only into 8 ohms will run at roughly twice the current it was specified for wherever that dip sits, and a cheap AVR's protection circuit is the thing that notices first. Treat this as a 4-ohm load when choosing an amplifier.
