Tonal Profile
Eight patterns switched electronically from the body, in a die-cast rectangular housing rather than a tube. The three reverse patterns are the unusual part: they let you point the microphone at one source while listening on the back of the capsule.
Gain Staging Advice
7 dB(A) at -35.3 dBV/Pa is an excellent floor for the money, and the 54-ohm output impedance is unusually low, so long cable runs are safe. Max SPL is 144 dB with no pad at all.

One sensitivity and one self-noise figure of 7 dB (A) stand for eight switchable patterns, including three reverse patterns in which the rear diaphragm is the working one. The sheet names no pattern. Lewitt does state both scales for the number it gives, and the two agree exactly - 17.2 mV/Pa is -35.3 dBV - so the ambiguity is about which pattern, not about the reference.
