Tonal Profile
The FET remake of the U 47 name: cardioid only, a large K47 capsule behind a transformer, and a frequency range Neumann itself quotes as 40 Hz to 16 kHz - narrower than anything else in the current line. It is a loud-source microphone: kick drum, guitar cabinet, brass.
Gain Staging Advice
-42 dBV/Pa with 18 dB-A of self-noise is the quietest-output, noisiest large diaphragm Neumann sells. On a kick drum that is irrelevant; on a voice at a metre it costs you real preamp gain.

The sign does not survive the arithmetic. 8 mV/Pa driven to 137 dB SPL (43 dB above 1 Pa) is 1.13 V, which is +3.3 dBu; the table prints -3.3 dBu, i.e. 0.53 V. On the neighbouring U 67 sheet the same two rows do agree (-9.8 dBu against 24 mV/Pa at 114 dB SPL), so the identity is Neumann's own.
