Tonal Profile

Side-address 1 inch dual-diaphragm with three patterns, three pad positions and three high-pass settings, all on the body rather than in a menu.

Gain Staging Advice

-36.0 dBV/Pa with 7 dB-A of self-noise and 147 dB max SPL: a 140 dB usable window, the widest in this batch. RODE publishes one sensitivity for all three patterns, so expect a couple of dB of movement when you switch. The pad is the part people forget - at -10 or -20 dB the microphone stops being a 16 mV/Pa source and starts behaving like a dynamic, and a preamp set for the flat position will be badly short.
