Supercardioid electret shotgun with two mutually exclusive outputs: a 3.5 mm TRS that runs on plug-in power and a USB-C that turns the same capsule into a class-compliant 24-bit/48 kHz interface.

Gain staging

-31 dBV/Pa is a hot output for a shotgun and the 2.2 kohm source impedance is high. A camera or recorder input below about 10 kohm will load it and cost level and low end; the USB path sidesteps the question entirely.
